Southwest Airlines advert celebrates transgender employees
Texas-based Southwest Airlines has issued a new video to show support for transgender employees, a possible response to Governor Greg Abbott’s upcoming session designed to discriminate against trans people.
In the video, transgender gay man Ethan Avanzino talks about Southwest Airlines’ transgender-inclusive policies. Avanzino came out and transitioned while working for the airline and he said he felt what the airline calls “LUV” from his co-workers.
“Having a work environment where I am accepted is incredibly important for me. I’m able to be just who I am. And Southwest celebrates my uniqueness.”
On Facebook, Southwest Airlines wrote:
“Southwest Airlines University is a place where employees come to learn and grow. One Southwest employee shares his passion for his work, and the love and respect shared between him and his Southwest Family. #LoveAboveAll.”
